Does this mean the rain's holding off? Or will they just be indoor doubles scores?

Dire's the word for that Evo result cry though he didn't have the best draw.

I see Fitzy didn't hang around though smile

Marcus was playing Fitzy cry (who's had a very decent week nonetheless) so Jack Carpenter's our last hope for a Brit to KO a non-Brit in R2, and since he's playing Piccari ...

were the matches played indoors today? I am going tomorrow supposed to be dry but windy. Willis good result but Evans and Cox disappointing but then they were playing clay court specialists. Hoping to see Babos tomorrow in Ladies singles no 3 junior in world.

Don't be so glum Steven, Meatball is a BT.net poster as well - remember?

That said, Fitzy is our regular "informant", so i would have preferred him to win

Same here ... and not really glum smile.gif - Meatball should be winning matches like that and Fitzy can be very happy with his R1 win and the fact he didn't get thrashed by Marcus. It was just that the "great stuff again marcus!" suggested that maybe Alex thought he'd beaten a seed or something.

Since no one else has bothered with the doubles (you should've known better than to come out with a question like that on here, Hoose! wink ):

R1:  Dan Smethurst & Marcus Willis WR 2244 beat Maniel Bains & Dan Evans WR 1574 by 3 & 4 smile

R1:  Tim Goransson & James McGee (SWE/IRL) WR 1103 beat Jack Carpenter & James Marsalek UNR by  2 & 2 cry

*  Not Evo's day at all, but a good one for Marcus! clap.gif

7-5 6-4 was my score. 5-2 up first set in HORRIBLE gusty rainy conditions.

dissapointing result to be honest. but fair play to will bomb, he chipped it around and played his game, i think in those conditions it suits his game more than mine, and score reflected that.

Bit of a shame i didnt have time to relax on getting past illingworth as i was almost straight on.

then we went inside for doubles, and went 6-3 5-1 up against number 1+2 seeds in singles (playing with thomas knights) and toughed it out 6-3 6-4.
Alicade or what ever his name is (no disrespect) has an absolute cannon, at least 140mph.

Great result though and hopefully give knightsy some condifdence, think were playing coxy and milton tomorrow not sure.
