A very creditable performance by James. No disgrace in defeat by a player of Isner's calibre, but what I wouldn't have given to see that obnoxious Ukrainian, "djash", on MTF, not to mention the equally appalling "SwedSerb" (& not just because that particular moron is yet another who can't tell the difference between "lose" & "loose"!), get their comeuppance...!
As far as I can see, James isn't playing the clay court Challenger in Sarasota next week (it doesn't look like he was ever entered for it), so I assume he's heading back to Europe, perhaps to train on red clay for a week, still hoping to get into Roland Garros qualifying.

Hmm, it's unlikely, but maybe James is going to play Sarasota qualies? Since he's in the US in the first place, he could want to purposely not enter for the extra points.
Or an even crazier move - Blumeneau! James could well be seeded in the main draw.
How about this for an explanation... James didn't enter enter any tournament since he wasn't sure. He planned Sarasota if he went out on Friday or later, or Blumeneau if he went out by Thursday.
I do hope that he'll do Blumeneau, but South America, North America, South America, Europe in four weeks seems impossible.
Another good effort on the clay by James, who seems to be performing a lot better on it this season than he has on the hard courts, and hopefully he'll get to a point where he's consistantly picking up points in clay court challengers which will not only to give a greater chance of getting points, but give us a good number two player in Davis Cup.
Hopefully he'll turn up in qualies somewhere next week to keep this good run of form going.
