RE: Week 18 - Challenger ($100K) - Ramat Hasharon, Israel

Chris 5*-4 up

Frightening serving: 70% first serves, 93% of those won and 6 aces to boot

First set in the bag, 6-4, though Chris was taken to deuce as he served for it! smile

Main Draw Singles

Chris Eaton Q WR380 v Rajeev Ram (USA) WR170

Could have been worse...1 qualifier got the 1st seed, 1 got the 3rd seed but 1 got a WC.

If Chris wins then he could face the 2nd seed WR52 so not a great draw.

Well done on qualifying Chris! A nice little bonus in the bank at least and 5 useful points. Now let's keep it going!

A good job he went for it today and didn't hold back for a LL place then! Not unwinnable if his serve is on fire though.

68% first serve percentage, 95% of which won and 9 aces today - not bad, eh?

He hasn't dropped a set yet, which probably means he hasn't dropped his serve once - i get the impression these courts might be quite quick (doesn't explain how Jonny lost though)

Meanwhile, in the doubles ( wink ), the top seeds, unsurprisingly, are Jonathan Erlich & Andy Ram.  Brit interest (seeds avoided for now, thank God!):

R1:  Brendan Evans (US) & Jonnny Marray vs Michael Berrer (GER) & the dreaded Bulgarian & WC-winning brat, Dimitrov

R1:  Josh Goodall & Brydan Klein (AUS) vs Sebastian Rieschick & Prakash Amritraj (GER/IND)

Jonny & Brendan in action in the fourth & final match on Court 14 tomorrow, kick-off in the first, a singles encounter, at 13.00 BST.

What! No May Day holiday for them? wink Shall be keeping fingers crossed and hoping they make the next round.

Good win for Chris to reach the MD. Hope he can go further, he seems to be hitting form at the right time.
