Matosevic was the lowest ranked direct entrant I think (????)  Josh seemed well worth his early lead and then.........it all fell apart confuse

He was the last DA, but was ranked higher than Josh by the time the tournament started. I'm inclined to give Josh some benefit of the doubt here - Matosevic's serving (including his ace count) improved drastically from the time he started his comeback. Of course, there may have been a point at which Josh let him off the hook, thus giving him the confidence he needed for the serve to improve, but the improved serving suggests that the Aussie improved over the course of the match more than Josh got worse.
