RE: Week 17 Futures - USA F9 ($10K) - Grand Harbor

Short really doesn't do himself any favours with touney selection.

He has beaten higher ranked players than the seeds in his section so there is hope however.

Both came through opening round (Whike by W/O)

In QR2 Short meets the top seed of the section (WR 1215) while Whike plays an unranked 16 year old American.

Most of the ATP drawsheet links seem to be down at the moment, but ITF says this is being played at Very Beach, not Grand Harbour (?)

QR1: James Whike UNR beat Gabriel Townes (USA) by w/o smile
QR1: Matthew Short UNR beat Mark Oljaca (USA) UNR by 1 & 4 smile

QR2: James Whike UNR v Jeremy Efferding
QR2: Matthew Short UNR v (q8) Leonel Vivas (VEN) WR 1213

Aha smile.gif

Yes, when I was trawling through them for the top 25 table, I found it works if you F5 of re-enter on the URL line enough times too, but that was too much of a pain so I switched to ITF instead. I'm not sure what's up with the ATP site, but this has been happening for a couple of weeks now, it's just particularly extreme today.

Wow Matthew made short work of Vivas!

QR3: Matthew Short UNR v Robert Livi (USA) UNR

There are no ranked players in the other QR3 match in this section either.

Steven, i hope that gag was unintended, however if anyone else feels the need to provide you with one of those emoticons of a newly-cloaked gentleman removing himself from the forum it will not surprise me!

Well done Matthew

He has shown he has some potential - lets just hope if he does qualify then he gets a decent reward. Knowing our luck he will draw top seed.

Another good performance from Matt and he qualifies for first time.

And his reward - Someone with a career high in the top 700 and who beat top 400 last time out

Ryan Harrison? Isn't he the 15 year old who beat Cuevas last year? Lost to Blake in Houston if I remember correctly. Surprised he's not played so much since then.

Edit: of course that would make him 16 NOW.
