The only Brit survivors in either competition , Flemski, face the Rati Thais (3), as predicted, in the second match on Court 14 today, after the singles encounter between Donald Young & Kyu Tae Im, which kicks off at 18.00 BST. The match should be a reasonable measure of the boys' progress as a doubles team...

i was pretty down about boggo's 2 recent loses, but i have seen that Im has now reached the QF here, beating Kim in straights and beat Dancevic last week and Matosevic has also QF here (and reach the SF in BR after he beat Alex) maybe he has just had some tough draws against in form palyers?

Sounds a bit like it - getting drawn against players on confidence highs can't be fun when your own confidence is at a bit of a low ebb.

Meanwhile, Josh's conqueror (or Colin's if you believe the LTA wink

) Spadea got walloped 4 & 1 by Prakash Amritraj in R2 ashamed

and Soeda got similarly beaten 2 & 3 by the Don.

maybe, or maybe i am just looking for excuses a bit. but often it seems when boggo goes out against a guy we thought was going to be fairly easy that guy often then has a decent week.

maybe beating boggo is a wonderfull confidence booster on for players on the tour.

you wonder how well know he is in general around the challenger tour now, he has been on it for years and i guess is fairly high profile due to the fact he gets a lot of press by just being British, and has had some veryhigh prifle coaches over the years: Gilbert, Lundi, Peter Fleming and i think has a rep as fairly talented just not putting it together. As Evans said after Jersey he felt his win over boggo was his best ever win despite the fact he beat higher ranked players that week.

It will be de Heart & Kuznetsov who had a battle to overcome the second-seed conquerors 3-6 7-6(3) [10-7]. Here's hoping.
