[Colin] plays 6th seed Go Soeda in the 1st round. On paper the hardest draw but im pleased he avoided Taylor Dent.
That shouldn't be too difficult now: he was taken out yesterday in two close (well, close until the actual tie-break games) sets by his compatriot & a qualifier, Jesse Witten (6-7(1) 6-7(2))! Frank Dancevic (5) bombed out in straights sets, too, beaten 3 & 4 by the Austrian, Martin Fischer!
What a terrible year so far for our guys in singles. Flembo and Boggo have been exceptions as have Andy, Evo and Coxy but other than that it really has been terrible.
D L16: Goodall/Amritraj v (1) Booty/Lipski - Wednesday D L16: Boggo/Obradovic lost to Soeda/Udomchoke by 5 & 4 D L16: Fleming/Skupski beat Lindahl/Matosevic by 4 & 4
F/S will play (3) the Rati Thais or a US WC pair (so that'll be the Rati Thais then) in the QFs.

I have been speaking with Karen the tournament director and Colin played very well with several momentum swings throughout an excellent match with Colin unfortunately double faulting on match point !!!
thats a real shame for Colin, looks like good efforts by both him and Josh but just falling short, however its just not working out for Boggo at the moment, i get the impression he is lacking some belief at the moment, i hope he can turn it around.

Dire. So much for things improving. You can hear the comments already that will be made at Wimbledon time about the usual state. Thank god the women seem to be making some real progress.
Clos call for Col and at least the Col/Ken combo came up trumps. Fingers crossed that Josh & Prakash can carry on the good work in doubles by taking out Booty and Lipsky (1). One can but hope.
