Slabba is due on court at 14.00 BST, the other two not before 16.00 BST.

Berankis beat Slabba 4 & 5 last week, which is enough to make it clear that Slabba, despite being the seeded player, has got his work cut out from the start.

Oudsema, who was ranked as high as 255 two years ago, is 11-5 v Brits. Two of the wins were against Colin and Evo in straight sets in consecutive rounds in Sheffield in January, the last losses were to Jamie Baker twice last year, and Bloomers in 2007, all in the US. Jamie B is in fact 3-1 against him.

Ouellette's only experience of playin a Brit was a 3 & 2 win against Amadeus in 2005. He has been winning plenty of matches in Futures, though his record is less impressive than Colin's, and to bring things full circle, one of his best results was taking out Berankis in Tulsa Challenger qualifying list year.

I'd expect Ward and Fleming to win their opening matches, and hopefully one of those Brits can come through that section and qualify.

Horrible draw for Slabba though - can't see him beating Berankis the way he is playing at the moment.

He has won 5 matches this year (Albeit 4 of those in New Caledonia)

Since NC however he only won 1 match and 3 sets.

Yes, Slabba won his first four matches of the year and has since lost 10/11, about half of them to lower-ranked opponents, though having to face Berankis twice in two weeks was never going to help those stats.

L32: Josh Goodall WR 209 v (4) Vince Spadea (USA) WR 109
L32: Alex Bogdanovic WR 186 v (SE) Kyu Tae Im (KOR) WR 254

The first match could be very good or very bad for Matthew, the GR board's resident comedian (proper comedian I mean, not in the Vandenburg sense smile.gif) who comes from Basingstoke, so is a big Josh fan but also hates Spadea more than any other player! smile.gif 34 year-old Spadea has beaten Eaton, Slabba & Baker since he last lost to a Brit in 2005 - that was when Greg beat him in Newport to win his last ATP title.

The top seed in Boggo's section is (3) Kevin Kim, so it could be K Im then Kim ...

Im's SE comes from him reaching the semis in Mexico City thanks to a retirement from Dawid Olejniczak in the QFs, though he did bagel Dancevic in the 3rd in R1. Im has not played a Brit since 2005 but has beaten both of the top two Norfolk boys in the past, though he once retired against Morgan Phillips in Romania.

Another loss for Slabba - it just isn't working for him this year, but on the plus side, he'll have nothing to defend at the start of next year!!!

Berankis was a tough draw though so it was expected.

Not the greatest draw for the Brits either - Im isn't exactly a world beater but has had some solid results, so it depends on which Boggo shows up, but given that he's gone deep this week, he may be fatigued which could help Boggo - he'll also be hoping Delic can beat Kim given his records against the pair.

Spadea should beat Goodall, but it depends on whether it's the Spadea who fancies winning a challenger (and given he probably needs to have a good run in the event to get a direct entry into Wimbledon, he surely will try), or the tank-in-the-first-round-whoever-I'm-playing Spadea that sometimes shows up in challenger events.

As long as the qualifiers avoid Dent, they'll have a shot at winning their opening match though.

Though Vince Spadea starts as massive fav, hes one of those players who on his day can be beaten by a lower ranked player.
If boggo can get a QF or SF here, then his season is on the go.

FQR: Colin Fleming WR 522 v Cecil Mamiit (PHI) WR 425

33-year-old Mamiit has a career high of 72, but that was way back in 1999! In his most recent match against a Brit, he was handed an 0 & 1 drubbing by Boggo in Las Vegas ATP qualifying in 2007, but before that he had beaten Alan Mackin, won three in a row against Jamie Delgado and taken a set off a young Andy Murray.
