Ouch, Katie must be so disappointed with that loss - it will be interesting to hear her take on what went wrong in the final two sets in her blog.

I guess Barcelona would have been better. She had virtually no time to practise on green clay which she hasnt played on for years, and all the time travelling and change of time zones probably didnt help.

Get back to hards and take some big points at the 100k Katie ;)

Its all about the dollar :p Still when an in form player gets a draw like that you expect them to take full advantage but Katie couldnt.

A week off to rest then down to Jo.

Have to agree that katie got a decent draw for this main tour event and given her form so far this year i really thought she would win this one. There were 40 points on offer just by reaching round 2 so this was disappointing. Let's hope it was just lack of practice and time zones and all that stuff. katies doing well but i still feel that she justs lacks that certain something when playing a main tour event. If she made the top 100 could she stay there? I'm not sure but quite happy to be proved wrong.

Yeh thats why I think she needs to make the MD of Wimb without a WC, which winning in Johannesburg where she is the top seed should help her, especially if she plays one of the weak 50ks like Gifu with Bally she could make the cut.

Katie's latest blog instalment starts with this tournament - very funny once more, it's at http://www.lta.org.uk/Articles/Katie-OBrien-blogs/20042009---Always-the-last-place-you-look/
