Ouch, I didn't think Josh would necessarily win, but I thought it would be close - and so did the bookies judging by the odds.
That's Boggo back in the GB no. 2 slot unless Josh qualifies for a Challenger next week, which seems unlikely since they're both on clay. Josh should just about hold on to a place in the top 200.

wasn't too surprised to be honest, despite having a career high ranking the lvl of opponents Josh has been beating recently are much lower than he used too. from what i can tell he has 20 wins over top 250 players at challenger level (he may have beaten more at futures), but the majority of them came in the earlier stages of his career, when he was often picking up wins over top 150. I wonder if the lvl of his game has dropped as he played lower class opposition and now struggles to raise his game against the tougher opponents
(just a quick comparison Boggo has 101 wins over top 250 players at challenger and above lvl)

You have been busy!
If you're right about Josh being far less successful against top 250 players than he used to be, then the fact that Josh can be at a career high just shows how stupid it is to have a ranking system that only takes into account the prize money and how far you get and takes no account of the strength of players you play against.

Just doing a 'Steven'
i just scanned through the results on tennis insight, which only does challengers + which is why my stats don't include futures, but does always show a ranking unlike the ATP who often put NA down for some reason. does the ITF results page show rankings? i know they have the full results listing.
i am pretty sure it fairly accurate, i think since the start of 2007 josh has had only 7 wins over top 250 guys

I wonder if there's some kind of fitness problem? Josh & Joe Sirianni have given the "Rati Thais" a walkover in the first round of the doubles. There's no mention of a reason on the ATP draw sheet & I realise that Sirianni could be the one who was crocked, but...
Josh injured his wrist in the loss against Lorenzi hence the doubles withdrawal. He's heading back to UK right now....is his next tournament Baton Rouge in a week and a bit or is he scheduled to compete next week ?
