Week 12 Futures - Spain F11 ($10k) - Zaragoza

QR1: (q6) Alexander Ward WR 892 v Francois-Arthur Vibert (FRA) WR 1900

Qualifying is only a 64 draw here, so no sign of the dream team cry

A return to winning ways for A-Ward but it wasn't easy

QR1: (q6) Alexander Ward WR 892 def Francois-Arthur Vibert (FRA) WR 1900 6-1 3-6 6-3

QR2: (q6) Alexander Ward WR 892 v Ivan-Rayco Valls-Campos (ESP) UNR

Campos seems to be one of those players who comes out for his local events/.

Alex won 6-1 6-1, plays 7th seed Fernando Romboli (BRA) wr 512 in 1st round. He's lost his last 4 matches so potential point on offer!

In fairness to Romboli, while he is having a bad run, the past few have been to higher ranked players.

Good iwn for Ward today tho!

Easy! Sweeping aside a top 500 (give or take a few places!) player in two sets is mighty impressive. Well done to Wardy.

Surely A-Ward has to take the lead of our most consistant and successful Brit of the year so far. His qualifying results must mean he has a good win-loss ratio

Yes, up to 16 March he was 7= in the world for matches played (25) and had the best win-loss record of any Brit who's played more than 10 matches this year behiond Muzza, who had got the best record in the world at that stage. Top 3 Brits (more than 10 matches played):

93.8% Murray (15-1)
72.0% A Ward (18-7)
70.0% Bloomfield (14-6)
