This will continue Katie's climb back up the rankings to about 128 against a high point of 104 in June of last year. Winning a $100K would take her very close to the top 100.
Well done to Katie for winning the title and she continues her good start to the season.
It does look as if she is on course for the top 100 at the moment, although whether or not she is a top 100 player is debatable given that I'd suspect a lot of her points would come from 25K events.
Good luck to her anyway and hopefully her and Mel can jon Anne in the top 100 and give us plenty of Brits competing at the top level each week
katie will be GB no.2 very quickly and will have a good shot at the top 100. Much more consistent than Mel but if both were to play at their best a marginal call might be made for Mel. Also Katie can play on clay
Given Katie's results recently, if she does break the top 100 in the next few months I definately think she'll have proved herself worthy of a place there. Although she's been playing mainly 25Ks she's beaten a lot of players very close to the top 100 like Foretz and she's already qualified for a grand slam this year.
Hopefully she can put herself close to the top 100 in time for Roland Garros to ensure a high seeding for the qualies....she can play on clay but its still by far her weakest surface and I think she'll need a kind draw to make it through to main draw.

I think both have quite a bit to do in order to survive in the top 100. Katie has more of an all-round game including as you say an ability to play on clay, but her serve is a big liability. Mel has more potency, particularly when her serve is functioning well, to claim big scalps on fast surfaces, but is short of Tour level experience and her technique and mobility have not seemed good enough to me to enable her to stay in rallies long enough on slower surfaces against Tour level players.
Well done Katie. Glad to hear she's playing a 100k next. She has beaten some good players this year already so maybe like Anne last year is now more ready to make a move. I never thought Anne would get to the position she is now so you never know with Katie. Great year so far.
