Borwell wins the 1st set (8-6 on tiebreak)

Broady now a break down in the 2nd set 6-7 1-3*

Naomi dominated the first set had most of the break points had 6-2 in the tb then served her 2nd df of the tb and then preceded to lose the next 5 points very quickly if the live update is to be relied upon and unfortunately has faded in the second. Is this a choke or did her opponent raise her game? very disappointing either way

Heather Watson lost her service in the first game of the match and struggled to hold her second service game but gradually got back in control and just took the first set 7-5.
Her first service percentage is still low but improving.

She could honestly win the title and I still wouldn't think it was a good choice! No disrespect to her and it was a good win today over the 4th seed but others could have made use of the ranking points.

Heather has just taken the first set against Jade 7-5!

the first serve percentage is poor for both players, but they both are still winning the majority of their first and second serve points (something you can't say about Bloomers earlier). I hope Jade can't fight back, she started to get her season back on track last week

Well done to Heather for gaining her first Pro win. Naomi needs to find a way back into more matches when she loses a tight set. I think it's five or six consecutive times now that she has lost an extended set then lost the next by a more comfortable margin.

Very disappointed by Naomi's loss. She's got talent but the mental side doesn't appear to be good enough right now. Last year she went to pieces at Wimbledon qualifying and she certainly cannot afford a repeat this year.

Good win for Heather, awful result for Jade.
