No Brit has reached a Challenger semi on clay since the start of 2005, but before that it's a case of guessing which players might have done it then checking, so I might have missed someone.

I have just noticed a certain former top 50 player (now unranked) is lurking very low down on the alternate list for Turkey. It would be a crying shame if he didn't get in, wouldn't it?

I agree - although if he fancied a WC for the main draw, or at the very least for qualifying, I can't imagine it being turned down.
