An improvement on last week but two retirements is worrying (there were 5 in total in the boys singles but none in the girls). Food poisoning?

(9) David Thomson (GBR) v (6) Maximilian Neuchrist (AUT)

end of the road in singles, but not in doubles smile

Doubles semi-finals

Barnes/El Menshawy (GBR) d. Golding/McCulloch (GBR) 6-2 5-7 [12-10]

Doubles final

(1) Alcantara/Berta (PHI/SWE) v Barnes/El Menshawy (GBR)

There is a big difference in points for L16 and QF in Grade 1 tournaments, and the doubles points are useful as well. As a result of this welcome emergence from a trough of form Alastair will reclaim the position of top-ranked Brit and move close to the top 60
