Great win for Fleming - just a shame he's likely to have to face Robert in the final, but surely he must be due a loss to a Brit at some point.

Well, Colin lost to him 2 & 2 in Nottingham soon after his comeback and improved to equal him in games in the Final of the Glasgow Future earlier this year, but lost 2-6 6-4 6-4, so he's getting there. Also in part 1 of his tennis career, he was the last Brit to beat Nielsen before the Dane's mega-BB streak, so it would be nice symmetry if he could be the first Brit to beat Robert to end his!

Of course, it may yet be Yani he has to play.

Like airsmashers says, it's nice to see that Colin's not just a big-time Charlie (or should that be a different name beginning with C wink) - I wonder if the maturity that comes with having lived a 'real life' for a bit probably helps him cope with the big occasion and realise the importance if taking the smaller events seriously too.

Top (the number we can't mention) place at stake in the Final, btw.

Are we allowed to say that there's a top 499 place at stake?

Robert beat Yani 4-6 6-1 6-1

and Fleming correct score was 6-3 6-7(2) 7-5

So Fleming vs Robert it is!

Fingers crossed !!!

I think the whole DC experience really go to Fleming in a positive way. He was the most assured player we had that weekend....and the lowest ranked from memory.

If he works as hard as he said he would and hopefully has the talent to back that up then perhaps we have another top 200 / 150 player on the horizon.

Btw today's result makes Colin the third highest GB points scorer in 2009 behind Muzza and Boggo:

1380 Muzza
47 Boggo
32 Colin
28 Bloomers
18 Josh
16 Evo
15 Jonny
13 Slabba
(everyone else in single figures)
