Tough looking qualifying draw with Oudsema at 569 the top seed!!!

I suppose from this we can assume that the WC's have gone to Eaton (which we know about already), Fleming, Cox and one other (Miotto and Flan are the only ranked players not to ave turned up, so one of the juniors may be given a WC)

I fancy Illy, Milton and Wills/Pauffley to qualify here, and join the WC's and Evans, Marray and Bloomers in the main draw.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Priddle qualify.

He has had a very encouraging couple of weeks where as Illingworth is having a bad run

Someone reported a day or two ago that the last WC had gone to Richard Gabb.

A little birdie told me that Richard Gabb (who has been winning loads of matches on the junior tour this year) has a wild card here.

I quite agree, on the size front Marcus has lost weight but still looks big. Yasmine Clarke was hitting and also looked a bit heavier than last time I saw her confuse

I will do a full write up later but some quick results

1st rnd qualifying

O Evans (GB) bt A Morgan - 3 sets
J Higgett (GB) bt J Goodall - 6-0,6-2
L Rovetta bt M Beckles (GB) - SS
J Delgado (GB) bt M James (GB) - SS
TKnights (GB) bt D Cochrane (GB) - three sets
D Crawford (GB) bt M Ward (GB) W/O
D Ross-Hurst (GB) bt E Jones (GB) -
J Busby (GB) bt S Sears (GB) - 3 sets
S Sterland-M (GB) bt D Smith - SS
M Schmid bt J Whiteford (GB) - SS
J Chaudry (GB) bt C Priddle (GB) - SS
F S-Johnsen bt J Turbervill (GB) - SS
T Farquharson (GB) bt A Bull (GB) - SS
D O'Leary (GB) bt D Sidaway (GB) - SS

2nd Rnd

B Arlidge (GB) bt D Crawford (GB) - SS
M Willis (GB) bt J Higgnett (GB) - SS
M Bains (GB) bt L Rovetta (GB) - SS
L Chramosta bt J Delgado (GB) three sets
N Cavaday (GB) bt J Chaudry (GB) - SS
D Smethurst (GB) bt S Sterland-M (GB) SS

J Milton leading M Schmid - 6-3, 1-0 (break-up) may have been 6-2 first set

On the wild card front, I presume Heather Watson has one as she was walking around after sign in? Gabb is local as he's based down at Millfield School, Somerset, so should get a wildcard

We have had the debate several times b4. We have been told by people very close to marcus that he is not fat and he carries the right % of body fat etc. I have watched him twice in recent mths and he has a big frame and i dont think he is fat.

being a sport science student and having stood next to him, i can tell you that he is definitely fat

I don't think we can use the word fat (I can't believe I'm getting involved with this discussion). He does have a large frame and he is defintely not fat in comparsion to the average fat person. But he could stand to lose a light more to be on a par with the rest of the players of his calibre. On the plus side, since Wimbledon he looks to have dropped a lot.

Hi All, haven't posted for a while but just had to today. The comments by jvar certainly made me chuckle due to me being the one who raised this after a Glasgow futures a few months back. Javar I am with you on this one, as I said at the time there is no doubt for me that Marcus could do with losing a few pounds. A professional tennis player should probably have a body fat percentage of between 10-14% and if Marcus is within that I ill quite happily eat his next Extra Value Meal!! Moving on, would love to see a good showing by Flembo this week.
