Disappointing from Josh. He's more than proved himself at future level but seems to struggle then at challengers. He needs to win these sorts of matches to progress further up the rankings. So frustrating.
This is unfortunately where i have my doubts about Josh, he doesn't often enough seem to be able to produce the goods against players in, or near the top 200. occasionally he will pull out a good win over a top 175 guy, but so often he will then fail to back it up. Whilst he is very strong at futures level, he hasn't found consistency at challenger level, hopefully he can.
But same as with Slabba you feel its an odd decision to head over here when there is a decent home futures and a home challenger on, esp just after the DC.

i know i have a reputation of being very critical, but im sorry, goodall is not a top 200 player, we can have this old argument about inflated and false rankings and weather it is a valid argument but im sorry it is
his big points came from indian challagners where the field was more like a future event,im not saying he doesnt deserve these pointsb but it doenst mean hes able to beat top 200 players over night with a new ranking, hes just a very soild futures player for me thats it....
The sad thing about that loss for Goodall is that even though he is higher ranked and the better player on the surface, we could probably all see it coming.
He's had a couple of decent results this year, such as reaching a futures final, but the step up to challengers isn't happening at all this year in terms of results.
In the final Goodall & Sirianni will take on either the top seeds Rohan Bopanna & Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (IND/PAK) or the 3rd seeds Michail Elgin & Alexandre Kudryavtsev (RUS) with the latter leading 7-6(4), 2-2 when play was suspended for the day.
The doubles final begins at 8am GMT tomorrow following the conclusion of the other semi which begins at 3am GMT.
