Good interview with Ross on the BBC - 4 whole minutes with a GB tennis player who isn't called Murray (though half the interview is about Murray, naturally) - Ross comes across very well anyway.

Hmm, that's almost word for word what I thought about the interview....I'm not sure whether to go for the "great minds think alike" claim, or to run for the hills...

Ross is probably the most well adjusted tennis pro i have come across. He speaks well to the media and they tend to listen. He doesnt waffle or grumble.
When asked in Glasgow 'Your Andy's mate would he want to play DC again' his response was measured, frank and to the point.
Ross has the game to be a top 20 doubles player...depending on his choice of partner maybe top 10 ?
I honestly think both Ross and Jamie have the game to make top 10 in the future. They have time on their side while a lot of the top doubles players are getting on a bit to say the least. Jamie just has to keep working on his technique and beefing up his serve and groundstrokes. If he stopped being 'overly doublesy' that is to say he works too hard on the tactical element of the game and overcomplicates things it would stand him in better stead.
Could they win a slam in the future? Who knows. Horna and Cuevas won the French Open last year for christ sake and Ross only has to ask his partner Stephen Huss who won Wimbledon with Wesley Moodie as qualifiers as to what could be achieved.
Thats a good interview, I think Ross has to be one of the nicest tennis players around!
On OOP for Thursday on court 2, sometime after Andy has had a rest from Singles, so I would guess around 5pm local time/ midnight UK time.
I think after the result in the last round i expect Ross and Andy to win this. It would be a shame if they lost here, guess it depends how tired Andy is.
I think Ross can definately make big moves up the doubles ranking but he really needs to improve his returning game, its his main weakness right now.....same is true for Jamie aswell
Agree totaly. Ross comes across has very level headed and hard working. Maybe it comes from his background with his dad being in tennis. He certainly doesn't seem to suffer stage fright and has made a very good partnership with Huss. I will be glad to see him as our doubles no1 next week as he fully deserves it from the results he 's had and obviously not a bad pairing with Andy.
Shame to see them lose but it doesn't take away from a great week and i think it's probably best for Murray's singles at this stage of the competition, not that I think he'd have thrown the match.

No, a tiebreak in the second set doesn't look like a tank.
I personally am fairly happy as I don't think Andy looks fit enough yet to cope with both singles and doubles, and for me his singles comes a long way first.
Not surprised to see them defeated, especially after Murray's efforts in the singles, but it's been a good tournament for the pair, and Ross reaching a 1000 series QF shows that the only way is up for him at the moment.
And thinking Davis Cup, it does look like a Murray/Hutchins combo could be the best bet to go given that they have beaten some good doubles teams this week.
