That ranks as a huge win for Chris and thankfully, he didn't give the rather arrogant Ukrainian the pleasure of winning the final match. Well done lad - some face saved for the GB team.
So, for the third time in three ties this century without a Brit in the top 100 in them, we lose 4-1 and Chris joins Boggo (v Woodbridge AUS) and Baker (v Calleri ARG) as players who have helped avoid a whitewash.

Well Chris saved us from the whitewash....good serve and volleying but this was not the Marchenko that played on Friday. Credit to Eaton fully. The crowd were delighted.
For those who thought that having this in Glasgow was a bad idea...well you should have been here. Crowd were great and even Roger Draper was impressed and this is a potential DC Cup venue.
Chris has certainly done himself proud here, but once again all comes down to why cant he produce each week. if he could then perhaps he could be a challenger regular (and maybe higher if he can develop some groundies).
As for josh, as you say he has done himself no favours, i had my doubts as i am yet to remember him performing on the big stage - such as in a challenger final or at atp level.
hopefully Chris will use this boost to get a bit of momentum going into the summer, and at least deserve the Wimby WC he will surely get based on form between now and then.

Josh didnt look up for it today. The little spat with JL was only just that a little spat. He knew he was playing poorly and JL rightly spoke to him but Josh was head shaking and gesturing much in the same way a younger Mr murray would. Not a big deal i suppose.
