Didn't know Elena, never spoke to her, but everything I heard about and saw from her seemed about a special human being, one that had so much still to give.
I can't get my head around this at all. I know that cancer is such a killer, but with Ross, and quite a few people I know recovering from it, I didn't expect her to die. Certainly not so quickly. My thoughts and prayers go to her friends and family, the ones who really knew her.
I'm not at all a sentimental or emotional person but I'm devastated. There was always something so inspiring and wonderful about her and I'm terribly sad this has happened. I never met her but she communicated such emotion I always felt I knew her. Rip Bally x
Not sure I can express in words what I am feeling right now. It just seems like yesterday when the first news about her cancer came through. Only 30!! I spoke to her briefly a couple of times, but most of all I will always remember her fight on court, a true legend of the British game and will be forever remembered. RIP Bally.
Only 10 months ago she won a 50k level tournament after being out injured. It just shows what a fighter she was and how had sbit or had these health problems would have almost certainly won more. A model professional and a lovely person she will be missed by everyone in British tennis and further afield I'm sure.
my favourite tennis player has gone so sad today. Bally loved watching you play but for injuries you would have been top 20. Rest in Peace now no more pain.
