Sadly, I think he should be fired but I can't see a suitable replacement unless you bring in someone foreign.
No doubt, Bogo should have been included and would have beaten the Ukraine number 2. I could understand Lloyd's choices more if he was blooding young players who will be a big part of the team in years to come but sadly, I doubt Goodall, Eaton or Fleming will be used again if Murray is available. Had he blooded an Evans and a Cox, perhaps we could all sympathise with the loss more.
Using Rusedski whilst Andy was out would have been smart. Greg has tons of experience and on a fast court, would probably have held the majority of his service games playing badly.
I also think it was criminal not to bring Jamie in to play the doubles with Ross once Andy had dropped out. Fleming as far as I'm aware, had no track record playing with Hutchins and therefore I felt it better that Jamie was included with either player. Having Ward as a 3rd singles player was really irrelevant.
Even though Eaton definitely perfomed well, I don't see him as ever being a number 2 singles player. John Lloyd has made several bad decisions.
how john loyd be blamed, for simply having **** players, im sorry that just isnt fair, what do expect, some brian clough style performance where he takes **** players and then wins the champions league or davis cup!!! Loyd is being used a scape goat.... so if we had some different coach, what could have he done difereantly??? nothing....... we just dont have the players simple as...
No one is blaming JL for having the players we have, what we are saying is that he seems unable to get the best of out of them on the day, which is up to him.
did you see the Ukrainian set up, with the laptop watching the matches on the BBC, obviously giving feed back on the match from a much better angle than the captain sees, we need all of the in the future.

at last nights PC he confirmed twice that he will be spending less time with Andy and much more time on the Challenger circuit "..to get to know these guys much better...I feel its important to do that..."
He is only just doing this - unbelievable!!
He just wants to go to all the big events and have a nice jolly IMHO. Now I read he is going to ask Andy what surface to play on. Just let him pick the team and be done with it.
The guy was the biggest choker going in his playing days (think of Boggo and double it!) and he should be out of the door.
i find it amusing he is going to spend time on the challenger circuit, as lets face it more often than not our guys are playing futures, well the ones in contention for DC spots anyway.

John Lloyd says he has no plans to quit as Great Britain's Davis Cup captain following the 4-1 defeat by Ukraine. ...................... Asked about his position, Lloyd told BBC Radio 5 Live: "That's up to my bosses, you can ask my bosses.
"I've got a contract for a little while now and if they're not happy with me then that's up to them." ..........................
