RE: Week 10 - Futures F3 (15k) - Tipton, Great Britain

Great wins for both Evo and Bloomers.

If Evo is playing his best and it looks like he is, I think he has a chance to beat Robert in straight sets. I have a feeling that if it goes to a third, Evo might lose his belief a little and Robert will be quick to take advantage of that.

Hopefully Evo doesn't end up playing a long doubles match this afternoon.

Wolf,

I have read your report from Sundays qualifying matches and have to dissagree with certain points. Firstly you said you weren't the worst player there by far, it's true you weren't the worst but you were definitely second to last.

You gave praise to young Busby (15) who beat you but none to Morgan (16) Poullet (15) or Golding (15)

I know your only a young lad yourself, but please be consistant with your criticism. Any of the 4 youngsters would have beaten you 0 & 0, it would be just a matter which one of them finished you off the quickest!

Can Evo stop the Brit-bash run? He's been more clinical than Robert this week

Sorry if I am a bit blunt here but my head is ringing but what are you on about mate? a) I most definately wasn't the second to worst player there I can actually play tennis unlike three of the people there b) having just read through what I put I can see I didn't give Busby any praise as I found it hard to analyse his game as he was only playing me and I gave each player on my report the praise how I saw fit. It's also quite hard to watch 6 matches at once so I can't go do a full analitical report on each player. For Golding in particular I can't remember him really doing much when I was watching. That doesn't mean he wasn't doing well when my head was turned. c) I'm not sure what you mean by being consistent certain players are obviously going to deserve more praise or criticism (I am not sure what their age has got to do with it.) d) I am quite aware that all four players that you mentioned would have beaten me most probably 0&0 what  is your point?

Evo has to keep his ground strokes & volleys deep into court as robert will pounce on anything short and is capable of hitting backcourt winners. Evo has the game but mentally it will be tough. Will take any type of win.

Wouldn't we all! smile.gif

Changing the subject, I reckon the wolf's comments were genuine based on what he actually saw, so no need for anyone to have a go at him. Simply disagreeing with him is fair enough of course!

Does anyone know what style of player Evo is and what are his strengths?

The only match ive seen him in was the Malisse match at Queen's and as you can understand that wasn't a very good gauge of his talents...

Moving on guys, hopefully I'm planning to go to the futures qualifying in Bath tomorrow. Can someone reminder me what round of qualifies will be on tomorrow - will it be first & second?
I hopefully write up some reports on what I see like I did last year.

You'd have a wasted trip, I'm afraid - men's qualifying doesn't start until Sunday with the women starting on Monday. Main draws start on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
