This is really good news. I have my fingers crossed for tomorrow. She strikes me, from the bits and pieces about her that i have read, to be a possible late(r) blossom. Does anyone in the know expect her to bypass her previous CH 262 and break the 200 in the future? She seems pretty consistent....
She has had a succession of injuries including a bizarre combination of events that made it impossible to fly and left her trapped in Australia for nearly 6 months last year, hence the long gap before she has points to defend.
So long as she remains injury free she could certainly beat her past record. Her present tournament will be one of three events she can still include to make her 16 and she then has three single point scores to improve on. In October, November and December last year she had a run of 6 events that scored over 100 points. A repeat of that form over the next 3 months would take her to a new career high.
I do hope Emily can finally win her first title today, she deserves i for everything she has been through.
I do think she can top her career high. That was based mainly on her wimbledon win and a couple of other decent tournaments. This time its been consistant results. If she can crack the top 300 before the grass i do see her beating her career high during the grass as shes is a great grass court player.
