"Always hard to find rhythm against a S&V and thats why I lost the second set...my mind was all over the place. It wasnt like real tennis...no baseline rallies at all. I changed from S&V when I was a lot younger and with the ATP setup for slower courts, even grass is slower these days, the top players will always find at least one game per set where they will pass and break. Chris is disadvantaged as an out and out Serve & Volleyer"
Stakhovsky had a brief press conference after the match.

Chris sat to the left of John Lloyd and took the first few questions...
Q: Where you overawed with your Davis Cup debut? A: No. I have played court 1 at Wimbledon and I really love the big matches and the atmosphere.
Q: How did you feel you played? A: I played well and at 1 set all it was up for grabs....in a 3 set match it was almost over in terms of the tennis to be played. I fell short on some of the big points but overall I was happy how I played.
britishtennis.net then asked...
Q: How did you find the whole Davis Cup playoff experience. You were only there due to Bakers withdrawal after all?
A: It was a great experience. I was lucky to get in but when you have a chance you have to take it. The week made everyone so much more prepared and relaxed. We (Josh & Chris) played 5 set matches and played well and won. So it was a great experience.
