Evans not in the alternates?!?!?

Robert the GEM is here, what a surprise! :( Niland holding up the Irish end :)

True, that's odd unless Evo is elsewhere that week.

Unfortunately Robert doesn't throw away enough won matches to be a true GEM, and I notice Nielsen (probably the all-time record 'basher') and Blandin (who has the longest ongoing streak with 13, one ahead of Robert, and unlike Robert who once lost to Boggo, has NEVER lost to a Brit) are here too - has it been advertised as the Brit-bashers' AGM?

Evans probably realised that he wouldn't get in directly and so there wasn't much point putting his name down on the list.

He'll probably get a WC anyway, but if not, would still be going through qualifying.

I suspect that Slabba, Fleming, and Eaton would be getting the other WC's, as Bloomers will surely make the draw anyway.

Good chance for points to be picked up here as Boggo will be highly seeded - the fact all the Frenchmen are here is partly because of how easy it is for them to get to Jersey - so more great planning on the part of the LTA.

I think it signifies those who owe fines to the ITF, which will be paid out of any prize money that they earn during the tournament
