Boggo returns to Bergamo for the first time since 2006, when he won the title there with a mix of good play and good luck:
32 W Arvind PARMAR (GBR) 7-6(5) 6-2 16 W Alex CALATRAVA (ESP) 6-4 6-4 QF O Jean-Michel PEQUERY (FRA) W/O SF W Andreas SEPPI (ITA) 6-7(4) 6-4 6-2 FR W Simone BOLELLI (ITA) 6-1 3-0 RET
Draw is out, and Boggo has perhaps got the best draw he could have hoped for, at least in round 1.
Boggo faces wild card Daniele Bracciali, who was at one stage ranked 49, but is now down to 849 and has beaten the grand total of 1 top 400 player since returning from a gambling ban last May (at least I think that was what he was banned for)
Not a match that Boggo should lose really.
Bit of a problem in round 2 though... likely to be top seed Fabrice Santoro.
lets hope Bracc doesnt suddenly find his old form!! Santoro is a tough 2nd rd, but lets take it one match at a time. alex has faced santoro once before, i think back in 05 losing 76 62.
hopefully the courts wont be quite as fast as the last 2 weeks.

Upsets are happening in Bergamo: in the bottom half of the draw (so not Boggo's), which is now complete, two Swedish qualifiers, our old friends, Johan Brunstrom & Filip Prpic, have dumped out the eighth & third seeds in straight sets! Brunstrom saw off Simon Stadler (8) by 5 & 2 & Prpic Ivo Minar (3) by 7-6(7) 6-4. Fingers crossed for Boggo this evening...
