Amanda Elliott scraped into the qualifying draw, to join Katie O'Brien here, but will need an improvement in form to survive her opening match. Amanda's section is:

Oxana Lyubtsova (UKR) v Katie O'Brian (GBR)
Tatjana Malek (GER) v (8) Yvonne Meusburger AUT

Lyubtsova qualified for the Paris tournament earlier in the month, scalping Aravane Rezai, so is in decent form indoors. If Katie survives that encounter (4th on Tuesday) then Tatjana Malek, who thrashed Naomi C en route to the Stockholm title, is likely to present a formidable obstacle to progress

Barrois is tall and rangy and has a solid game but I think Katie can beat her the form she is in.

Katie has played her three times before beating her in 2006 when Barrois Retired after winning the first set and losing twice to her last year. Katie is on a roll!!
