Maybe in order of entry date if they have nothing else to go on. I guess a lot of people will withdraw once they see that they aren't certain enough to get in for it to be worth them making the trip, but you seem to have been unlucky to have picked a popular tournament.
It's quite surprising that the entry list is so long when there's a hard court 15K in Lille the same week.
Talking of which, why can't Stéphane Robert go there instead of GB that week LOL
Edit: the cuts are even worse in Lille - 368 MD, 612 Q, 139 players on the Q Alt list c.f. 454 / 869 / 109 in Tipton.

I am 97th alt currently hopefully that will go up a bit by the withdrawal deadline next week. I'm not sure what criteria they use to sort the alternates but I have never played any senior tournaments affiliated with the LTA so I have no national senior ranking (and no junior ranking as I am no longer a junior).
He's in the top 60 Alts for qualifying now, I think, and unlikely to get in, but I imagine there are a fair few w/ds to come yet. I can't believe we're going to end up with a Futures qualifying competition where all players are ranked - usually it's touch and go whether all the qualifying seeds are ranked!

Oh ye of little faith, Steven. I'm 40th on the alternate list and I keep moving up! 1 hour to the withdrawal deadline, where are those pins? It's going to be touch and go whether I get in but I'm reasonably confident.
Oh and the order players are put in are a) ATP ranking b) top 500 national ranking c) no ATP or no top 500 national ranking. I assume those who have no top 500 national or no ATP ranking are then ordered on date of entry.
That list is shortening very fast isn't it. Who are you then? When I looked after you said you were 97th Alt, the 97th Alt was Joey Brew, but maybe the list had already moved on by that stage and you're actually someone else (?)
It must be good that so many of the people above you don't have this event down as their priority 1. Even 10 of the 18 on the main draw list at the moment don't have Tipton as P1, though I imagine some of them will stay on the list if they haven't got into their preferred events.
Edit: that's odd, when I looked at the list before writing this post, Joey Brew was 36th Alt, but I just refreshed again now to see if anything changed (I didn't expect it to because I thought it only updated twice a day) and now he's 40th Alt.

85 w/ds from Tipton as at the 3 pm update, wolf is 25th Alt for qualifying and coincidentally, 25 players in the various lists above him have different tournaments as their priiority 1 event.

It seems to have been updated again (maybe the twice a day update policy which was stated a year or two ago no longer applies) and with 97 w/ds now, wolf is up to 14th alt with 15 non-P1s above him, though 5 of them figure among the top 8 DAs for the main draw, so may well stick with Tipton anyway. Fleming & Skupski have joined Marray & Evo as main draw DAs.
