RE: Week 6 - ATP 250 Series - San Jose, USA

They are broken & go 2-4 down, but obey the primary rule of tennis & retrieve the break in the very next game: *3-4!

And have 3 more chances to break again at 4-4, but they are all saved - hope they don't regret that

They lose the 2nd 7-5 in a TB so the MTB will decide the match.

Bit of a bummer, as they seemed to dominate for the most part, but that is what happens with these new doubles rules matches can turn around very quickly. But just show how far they have come that we now expect them to win matches like this.

The 2nd set stats tell a story, Hutchings/Huss won 54% of the points and converted only 1 of 6 break points. They then lose the TB and the CTB. Certainly a missed opportunity.

Looks like they did regret the 3 missed chance at 4-4 in the end then.

Shame to see them defeated, but hopefully they'll learn from this for their next event, and the fact we are expecting to them to reach finals is a sign of their progress as a pair.

I was hoping they'd win this one, but not to be. A good week for them, nonetheless. I look forward to following them and toasting future successes.smile Next time they may convert the chances the opposition give them. nod.gif
