Well done Naomi, good to see her backing up the win from last week.

Points in a $25k are:

Qualifiers - 1pt
1st Rd - 1pt
Last 16 - 8pts
1/4's - 14pts
Semi's - 24
Final - 34
Winner - 50

So, right now Naomi is on 15pts

Yeah but you don't get the additional point for qualifying in $25k's I don't think or have I just made that completely up?

QF: Naomi Cavaday WR 282 v Claudine Schaul (LUX) WR 375

Schaul, a top 50 player at her peak, knocked out the 2nd seed in the last round and thrashed Naomi 6-2, 6-0 in the semis of Wrexham at the start of the year.

I think the rule you have in mind must be the one that says you don't get qualifier points plus R1 points if you lose in R1, you only get qualifier points in that case. However, you do get qualifier points + main draw round points if you get past R1.

On Claudine, form is temporary class is permanent as the saying goes, so she'll be tough for Naomi. However, on the positive side, Wrexham was Naomi's first tournament in a long time I think and she's now got some wins and match practice behind her so I'm expecting at least more of a fight from her this week if not a win.

Sad but expected. Malek is a talented player who will soon be back at or above her protected ranking of just inside 100.

Malek won the Final 6-3, 6-2. Hopefully Naomi's ranking will move close to 250 after this week is added on.
