L16: (Q) Max Jones UNR beat Sean Thornley WR 814 by 5 & 1 biggrinbleh

I guess that British Tour win by Max was no fluke then! He now has three times as many points as he ever had before and will play either Christopher Klingemann (USA) WR 638 or (WC) Eduardo Peralta-Tello (MEX) WR 1173 in the QFs, the remaining seed in that quarter having lost to Klingemann in R1.

Klingemann has convincingly beaten Tim Bradshaw and Dr No recently while Peralta-Tello once lost to Amadeus Fulford-Jones, so I think we can guess who it's likely to be ...

i think i'd do much better in a mex F1 pickems then im doing in the aus open pickems!

glad jones won it -im going to predict he'll make the semis now :D

So he is 23 this year...that is a tad disapointing...thought he was an up-and-coming 17/18 yr old.

Oh well a late starter I suppose.

hope he wins the title !

I think he is the son of the Jones who coached Jo Durie ad also worked with Bally early on.

I may be wrong though!!

My mole reports that Max lost 1 & 2 cry so has had to dash off to qualifying for next week. An excellent week for him though. smile.gif
