Super result from Tash (btw her first set TB score was 10-8!) but it is balanced out by Amanda having a shocker.

R1: RADOVANOVIC, Gracia (FRA) Q 739 beat ELLIOTT, Amanda (GBR) 7 317 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-3 bleh

What happened to the Mandy of the first half of 2008?

R2: Naomi Broady WR 468 v (SE) Constance Sibille (FRA) WR 808

Sibille is on a hot run of form after reaching the final of Wrexham last week (losing 6-4 in the 3rd to Schaul) and knocking out the 4th seed in R1.

What a shocker, indeed - almost makes you wonder if all the results are the wrong way round.

These are the tournaments from the first half of 2008 where Amanda scored more than 1 point (2 points after the conversion)

In Doubles Elliott/Broady gave a walkover to Khan/Aragon

Maybe a sign Amanda's loss was down to injury

She has the talent to be comfortably in the top 200, if not the top 150. I hope she can get herself together soon.

QF: Naomi Broady WR 468 v (5) Varvara Galanina (RUS) WR 281

Both Guisard and Galanina both won their R2 matches 6-1, 6-0 so are clearly in hot form.

Tash and partner lost their doubles SF 6-3, 6-4 to the top seeds.

Wow Fantastic week for both.

Tash has got her mojo back after that great 1st round win and Naomi is getting better and better, hope they can both keep going but Tash has a vet touhg match next.

"Broady played the best match of her week to beat the strong Russian Elena Chalova 6-3,7-6. Chelova's hard hitting kept her in the match but Naomi hussled and competed well without losing serve. In the final she will meet Yulia Fedossova (FRA) WTA 228 who beat Natasha Khan(GBR) 6-3,6-3."
