i think your allegation that a professional sportsman might deliberately lose a match shocking, and i think you should apologise to Messers Minar & Rosso for suggestion this and also to Messers Pauffley & Fidriko for the implication they could only win by their opponents not trying. bleh

LOL I'm not saying Neil and partner couldn't possibly win, it's the scoreline that makes me just a tiny bit suspicious that Minar & Rosol might not have brought their A game onto court.

Wardy lost 6-0, 6-4 while Josh went down 6-3, 6-2

Better news in doubles with both Josh/James and Neil and partner winning match tie-breaks.

1)  James' defeat was hardly unexpected cry, but that's a poor show from Josh no.

2)  Three sets each pair may have needed to get there, but they still add up to the almost (75%) all-British final helki was hoping for & a guaranteed 50% share of the title! biggrin  At least the two wins restore a bit of Brit self-respect.  Well done, lads! clap.gif

P.S.  For the record, Neil & Nikolai won 7-5 1-7 [10-8] & Goody & Ward 7-5 4-6 [10-7].  Oddly similar scorelines! nod.gif

*yawn*  If Marcus & Neil are as successful as your spelling & grammar, they've about as much chance as a snowball in Hades! no

Meanwhile, back in the real world, a win today for the second seeds, 4-6 6-0 [10-4]. winner.gifs

Well done to Josh and James. clap.gif A bit of a face-saver after the disappointment of the singles. As the last seeds standing I'd have been upset if they hadn't won, though. wink

Willis and Pauffley were/are actually a very successful doubles partnership in doubles at junior level.

I tihnk the sentiment was for them to play together at senior level.

Congrats to James and Josh on the doubles title!

Lets go beyond QF this next week though boys.
