I'm not convinced Evans is quite ready for the challengers yet, especially as we're seeing a few players that would normally play at that level appearing in the Futures just at the minute. I think he could do with more practice winning matches at this level for a few more months. But he's moving in the right direction and could certainly have a go at the occaional challenger.
Smethurst is certainly a better player than I gave him credit for.
Really good wins there, what's Josh Milton on this week?! I thought Chris would win, but the encouraging thing is that he seems to be playing at or just above his (Wimby-enhanced) ranking this month even though these are only Futures, which is the one thing he wasn't doing before. Well done to Pauffley for taking a set off Robert too - that's more than most Brits have managed in the last 12 months!

No seeds left in the top half. 5 Brits make the QFs despite us only having one seed in the draw. Will it be revenge for Chris for last week or will Evo confirm his superiority?

No he won't. It will be because he is a favourite of John Lloyds.
You have only quoted part of my post....look we can all believe what we want but even Lloyd cannot pick Baker if he keeps bombing out of Futures in R1/R2....regardless of his personal likeness of him if he does not get the results he would be on a hiding to nothing. Safe bet right now is Evo as he is doing well...to cement his place in the squad a coupld of wins in a CH would not go a miss.
If it turns out that Baker does get in the team without doing anything in terms of results / significant ranking improvement then feel free to re-quote this whole post with several smileys and 'I told you so'

Just to echo others....this has been a good two weeks....Milton impressing as well as Illy.
Going for a Fleming v Evo and Milton v Robert SF's.
