If Jamie Baker manages to get in our DC team it will be a disgrace. At the moment the only thing going for him is Scottish, yet people are still calling for him to be included. I know the only reason this is happening is becuase of his illness, so I'm not having a go at him personally.

Stunning win for Fitzy in the doubles follows a decent effort against Bloomers. Hope Eaton can win back to back but it seems Nieminen is playing well. Lovely wins for Pauffers, Smethurst and Illy (lets not pass any judgement on hear-say about sportsmanship). I'm predicting Smethurst to cause a shock and beat Evans tommorow!

Hi, well well well. Where do I start with the doubles match today.
Me and olly were down and out, 6-1 5-1 down and came back and took that set on a tie break, and in that tie break we were 6-3 down.
Then in the championship tie break we were down 6-2 and came back and won.
Was a very big scalp and gives me a little extra cash in the pocket. Opens up the draw now aswell.
Good win. Some very good singles matches today. Everyone is a high standard.

As far as my singles goes. I was very annoyed that the umpire made very bad calls on key points for me to get broken
Hard to take when I'm trying to hard, and I can't afford that against bloomers.

Hope everyone is well.

If Jamie Bakers gets into the DC team...then he will have earned it.

A reminder that he won in Argentina...I think it was the first rubber dead or alive that they lost for some time at home...

R5 - J.BAKER (GBR) def. A.CALLERI (ARG) 7-6(4)  6-4

Jamie is still finding his feet...obviously. He still has 5-6 weeks to turn in the performances that could swing it. One thing that is not in doubt is his fighting spirit. I would still give him only a 33% chance of being in that team.

If Evans wins this week...and that would be some going when you look at who is still left in the draw and then perhaps steps up and wins a challenger round or two then he surely would have a great chance of being in the team.

That must go down as one of the biggest turn arounds that you have been involved with !!! They must be kicking themselves !!!

Hard lines with the calls...with only 3 umps you are bound to get bad calls !

No he won't. It will be because he is a favourite of John Lloyds.

Thanks for the report, how on earth did you manage to turn that match around? It must give you lots of confidence. smile.gif

Just noticed I'm getting sent scores from Sheffield (wasn't pre-arranged and I've only just turned my phone on) - I assume it's Bloomers v Fleming, in which case, Bloomers first:

12:14 - *3-4 Fleming held to love
12:30 - 1st set to Colin 6-4

Let's just say similar to Bladetiger's infamous mole. (hopefully he's now had that surgically removed, btw)
