with a initial cut of 150 at Heilbronn i guess that means very little chance of Alex getting a DE. Qualies could be an option, but there is a decent futures in Germany that some of them may opt for.
The 1st few weeks are going to be tough as the choice of events is really thin. Hellibonn, Wroclaw, St Etiene and Belgrade will probably all have really high cuts, its not till the end of the Feb that a few lower points once appear.
if you are having to enter challenger qualies then maybe you might as well enter ATP ones??

Yes, and even in the other weeks, there is only 1 European ATP so even they will be tough.
i have to say i am not sure what it is this year, but the early season calendar has left me feeling very 'meh'
Yes, it's not good - players need to go farther afield to pick up points, but that costs so much more as well as resulting in too much time being spent in planes. We could have done with another Challenger in the UK in the 1st quarter.

I've been looking out for signs of life from players on the top 25 table who aren't down to play in weeks 2 or 4 and the Futures lists for this week (week 4) are now out. There are Brits on entry lists all over the place with Wardy and Slabba in particular spoilt for choice though I assume he'll end up at his first preference instead of being 2nd seed in Mexico.
Highlights include Jonny Marray back in action in Germany, using his PR, where he'll be joined as a DA by Josh, Wardy, Slabba and probably Chris Eaton.
Also, Edward Seator seems to be back - he's 6th Alt in Eilat.

Is that earlier than usual? I've no idea when they used to come out, I just came across them while I was trying to compile the week 2 table. If it has changed, perhaps it's just a temporary hangover from the earlier deadlines they had over the Xmas and New Year (?)
