BRITISH SUCCESSES 2009 - MEN

As explained near the end of the 2008 thread (and as promised to DJ ages ago!), this year's titles and new career highs in singles and doubles are going to be put directly onto a web page in the stats section of the site at http://www.britishtennis.net/stats.html to act as a permanent and easily accessible roll of honour page for all of the successes in 2009.

I should notice singles titles and new singles career highs automatically when I update the other stats I do, but I would be very grateful if people could report doubles titles and career highs (plus any singles titles and career highs I miss) on this thread.

Small rises in the 5 Jan rankings have already produced 5 new singles career highs for Evo, Jonny Kinsella, Dr No (who celebrated his 20th birthday on New Year's Day), Meatball & the Bishop, while Hutch at no. 42 is the most notable of four new doubles highs.

Thanks (particularly for reminding me about the doubles titles) - all now added.

I'd noticed the 14 new singles career highs this week - which have got a lot to do with there being a lot less points available in total than there were last year, i.e. you can move up a fair bit without adding any new points this year.

The new ranking system (and the doubling of PTDs from last year) equally means that anyone who has points to defend early this year will find it tough to avoid a disproportionately large drop when they come off even if they do similarly well in the same tournament this year.
