Week 1 - ATP 250 Series - Brisbane, Australia

Jamie Murray begins his new partnership with Dusan Vemic, in the first round they have drawn the reunited team of Julian Knowle & Jurgen Melzer. Jamie is still probably having nightmares about the DC tie last year...

Is Vemic a permanent partner? Or just someone for the first couple of tournaments?

Not sure his game complements Murray's tbh...

The plan seems to be for this to be a permanent partnership - Certainly hope it works as I think this is a make or break year for Jamie

Although Jamie will partner Booty at the AO

Interesting. Vemic has all the moves don't get me wrong but this requires Jamie to be the strong consistent player to complement Dusan's flair.

Jamie and Dusan do the business, winning 6-7(14) 6-2, 6-4.   Monster first set tie break!

Is it me or does Jamie win a lot of third set tie breaks?  And is this because he raises his game when it matters, or is it down to lapses of concentration earlier in the match, ie shouild he be closing out the match before the tb?

Good start for the new partnership.

It is Parrot & Polasek in the QFs after they impressively knocked out Melo & Sa 10-1 in a CTB. Polasek's serve is MASSIVE and Parrot is very quick and good at the net so together they make a good pairing.

Last year he won 16 and lost 10, according to my count, although in the last few months of the year, he lost more than he won.

I'm not sure I'd like to read too much into it.

I'm glad they've had a winning start. Long may it continue

Very disappointing result. Then again, I was very impressed with their first round win so an OK first week.
