Mel South beat Suarez Navarro in straight sets early last year and the Spaniard ended 2008 on a 6-match losing streak. However, she did thrash Natalie Dechy 4 & 0 in R1 here!

D L16: Borwell/Muller beat (Alt) Domachowska/Nakamura by 0-6 7-5 10-7

D QF: Borwell/Muller v Llagostera Vives/Parra Santonja (who took out the top seeds in R1)

She did well, wasn't a great match but it was good to get a win under her belt. :)

Loved the interview at the end when there were two guys shouting "Come on Anne! WOOOO" and the interviewer asked her about the support she's been getting and she was like "Well they've probably been drinking all day"

But yeah, I think she can beat Suarez-Navarro who asn't done ANYTHING since Paris. Go Anne!

Well done Anne. Great to see her get off to a winning start on the main tour. I believe she will crack the top 50 this year. Also will Sarah make the top 100 now after her win in the doubles? Hope so.

Well done Anne, expected win but she got through it. Saurez-Navarro is more than beatable away from the clay.

Pleased for Sarah too, I think she needs to win another round to get into the top 100 though.

Sarah and Anne are the first and second matches respectively on Court 6 tommorow.

Great chance for both to win throug to the next rounds.

I don;t think Suarez-Navarro is that good of a player off clay. Her raking is 50% from her QF at RG. And with Wozniak the other seed in this section Anne might not get a better chance for a SF this year.
