I don't even get my hopes up any more for Boggo's matches so I'm not even disappointed! I think the statistics for each match here are only for the first set for some reason?
Sebastien De Chaunac (FRA) beat Alex Bogdanovic by 3 & 2
This match was moved to Court 13 and played under the floodlights as darkness descended upon Melbourne. De Chaunac was on top form showing some great movement and finding the lines on many occasions. The match was lost in the second set when Boggo was serving at 1 - 3. There was a long rally in the first point of the game and during this, Boggo had thought one of the line judges had made a sound and stopped, obviously thinking the ball was out. Boggo quickly realised though that the ball had indeed not been called out and was still in play but by this time, De Chanuac was on the front foot and despite Boggo's efforts to carry on in the rally, he lost the point. Boggo's complaint to the umpire was to no avail and he went on to lose the game to love. De Chaunac served well after this and in fact, sealed the match with an ace.
After seeing De Chaunac play, I fully expect him to qualify for the main draw. He was on top form and Boggo just could not offer anything in return.

Boggo was defending 8pts from last year so he will stay lvl.
thanks to Stuart for the report, sounds like SdC was in top form in the match, which is a shame, but i guess it happens and boggo hopefully wont be too down hearted, after a fairly decent start to the season.
