Still got 4 Aus main draw wildcards to be announced so Slabba must surely get in. I can't imagine they'll give all 4 to players ranked outside the top 300.
Of course I hope to have them all still in at the end of the week but right now I'm going to pin my hopes on them all being drawn in different parts of the draw )

It would be nice to make it a hat-trick of years with qualifiers after three lean years (though we probably had Greg and Tim in the main draw back then) - GB's recent history in men's AOQ, including W-L ratios in qualifying only, is as follows:
2008: 2 played - W 4 L 1 - Baker qualified (L to Karlovic in R1), Boggo reached QR2
2007: 5 played - W 5 L 4 - Mackin qualified (L to Lapentti in R1), Marray reached FQR, Boggo/Bloomers/Baker out in QR1
2006: 5 played - W 0 L 5 - Big Arv/Aucks/Del/Bloomers/Marray all out in QR1
2005: 5 played - W 2 L 5 - Boggo & Big Arv reached QR2, Del/Marray/Mackin out in QR1
2004: 2 played - W 1 L 2 - Boggo reached QR2, Big Arv out in QR1

All except Boggo are making their AO debut. It's not going to be easy for any of them, but none of them have got stinking draws:
QR1: Alex Slabinsky WR 334 v Alexandre Kudryavtsev (RUS) WR 218 (CH 177, 7/2008)
Kudryavtsev hasn't played a Brit since he beat Michael Ouvarov in 2005. Seeds in this section: (q1) Paul Capdeville (CHI) & (q18) Flavio Cipolla (ITA)
QR1: James Ward WR 281 v Gianluca Naso (ITA) WR 232 (CH 230, 1/2009)
Naso beat Jamie Baker 0-6 6-2 6-4 in the Bronx Challenger in 2006 Seeds in this section: (q5) Go Soeda (JPN) & (q26) Daniel Brands (GER)
QR1: Alex Bogdanovic WR 184 v (q24) Mikhail Kukushkin (KAZ) WR 149 (CH 131 5/2008)
Kukushkin was the player Chris Eaton beat to start his Wimby qualifying run Winner to play de Chaunac or Lugassy, other seed in this section: (q9) Santiago Ventura (ESP)
QR1: Josh Goodall WR 204 v Pavol Cervenak (SVK) WR 300 (CH 256, 5/2007)
Cervenak was 1-1 with Dan Evans last year Seeds in this section: (q27) Danai Udomchoke (THA) & (q10) Evgeny Korolev (RUS)

No Stinking 1st rd's there, Yes Boggo got a seed, but at least its a low one, who seems mainly to play on clay so he has a chance. and i'd expect him to be better than both his rd 2 opponents, (assuming confident boggo is back)
Slabba may well find it tough with the top seed in the 2nd rd if he makes it. the seeds in Josh section look quite tough too.
