RE: Week 51 - Futures F6 ($15,000) - Opava, Czech Republic (carpet)

L32: (Q) Joshua Milton WR 755 v (Q) Petar Jelenic (CRO) WR 789
L32: (Q) David Rice WR 940 v Marin Bradaric (CRO) WR 644

Chikhladze has a CH of 350. A dire draw for Jonny who really deserves a break. bleh

Marray & Fleming are the 2nd seeds in the doubles (which has only nine pairs) and they have a bye into the QF and face the Czech pair Satral & Vacek.

That was Dr No's 100th match of the year!

Only Spaniards have played more (Cervantes - 122, Diaz-Ventura - 110, Martin-Adalia - 109, Gutierrez-Ferrol - 103, Checa - 102)

Good to see them all get through, though what does Jonny have to do to get a decent draw these days? doh

Dr No is only the second Brit to complete a century of matches in a season in the last 7 years and if he starts his R1 match, he'll equal Josh Goodall's British record for that period.

Most active Brits by year:

2002 Alan Mackin 76
2003 Alan Mackin 79
2004 Josh Goodall 101
2005 Matt Smith 99
2006 Josh Goodall 94
2007 Alex Slabinsky 87
2008 David Rice 100+

Very true - and I bet those five all play in Spain nearly all the time - Rob Dee-thrasher DDV definitely does.

Yes you're pretty much right, but Martin-Adalia couldn't resist a couple of weeks in Frinton and Felixstowe last summer, but then again who'd want to stay in Spain with that sort of temptation on offer...

L32: (Q) David Rice WR 940 beat Marin Bradaric (CRO) WR 644 6-2, 6-4 biggrin

L16: (Q) David Rice WR 940 v (8) Andre Begemann (GER) WR 436

Well done Ricey! Also major props to Ireland's James McGee who knocked out the 2nd seed. McGee seems to have come from nowhere recently.

Gutted for Jonny and Flembo, tough draws but I was hoping they could come through. Hopefully they can bring home another doubles title as a consolation.

Can't see Milton beating Juska, but Ricey looks in good form and could spring an upset.

clap.gif David Rice, I'm really pleased he's won this one. I've been following his career ever since having a chat with him at Nottingham a couple of years ago (before his little fall out with the LTA wink). Hope he makes the QFs along with Josh.

Both guys an tomorrow plus Col & Jonny in the doubles.
