Rehrl qualified for a Future for the first time in Managua last week, though his biggest claim to fame is probably having beaten Marko Djokovic in a junior event last year! However, he once lost to Gent Reha (a Brit apparently) also in juniors.
This is Paul's 45th attempt to qualify for a Future or Satellite in nearly 7 years, and his four previous forays as far as the FQR have all been straight sets defeats. I doubt he's ever had a better chance than this to make it to a main draw.

There's no stopping Paul now (*) - having finally reached his first main draw after years of trying, going a set down to a top 700 player who has reached a Futures Final and two semis this year wasn't going to stop him ...
L32: (Q) Paul Bishop UNR beat Miguel Cicenia (VEN) WR 685 by 6-7(4) 7-6(4) 6-2
L16: (Q) Paul Bishop UNR v (1) Carlos Salamanca (COL) WR 341
(*) Ok, so Salamanca might have something to say about that!
