Week 47 - Futures F8 (15k) - Mumbai, India

Maniel Bains was 2nd on the alt list here and the second seed in qualies (the top seed is a ringer) was 4th so it is probably safe to say he is a DA now.

QR1: Faris Akhazzan UNR v Bhishman Desai (IND) UNR

Winner to play (q1) Primin Haenle WR 828 in QR1

I wonder if he has made the trip though because he was due to be in Brazil last week and took the WC in Jersey qualies.

Hoping for the best for Faris.

I remember Goldenslam worked with him at one stage

Sudanwa SITARAM (IND) defeated Maniel BAINS (GBR) 6-4 6-0  bleh

Disturbing result against an unranked player, although Sitaram did beat Rupesh Roy WR 889 6-0 6-3 in qualifying.

Double R1:
SATSCHKO (GER) / STRATLING (GER) (3) defeated BAINS (GBR) / SIPAEYA (IND) 7-5 6-4

..and that's the end of British interest!

... having lost all his matches before this week in straight sets. Very strange, and whichever way you look at it, a very bad result for Maniel. cry

The previous matches were in Challenger qualifying.  However, his junior record is hardly amazing: in his matches with Brits this year he's beaten James Chaudhry and lost to Alastair Barnes, Ashley Watling and Faris Akhazzan...
