I make that 16 inter-continental flights, counting US-HI as one, because effectively it is, plus the flight home after Cancun. Add that to 36 tournament weeks played (once you add on Helsinki and Cancun) and you get 52 ... in 48 weeks. No wonder he's already knackered!
Muzza, by contrast, has has 11 inter-continental flights (12 by the time he gets home) and will have played 27 tournament weeks (25 tournaments + 2 second weeks of slams) totalling 38.
Josh, who has played the same number of tournaments as Boggo, is going to end up having made 10 intercontinental flights to play in them.

I guess as a player it is something you get used. imagine if you were scared of flying!! no tennis career for you me boy.
and of course its not just the flying but all the jet lag after etc.
however it is something that is part and parcel of the modern game and why vital scheduling is important.
boggo's random global movements dont make sense to me though and i think with a much better thought out schedule he would benefit.
i don't know who picks it, if its all down to Alex or if the LTA have a say, but some of the choices are odd in the extreme. even recently, he went from Europe to US for 2 weeks then back to Europe, when he could have stayed in the US??, (or stayed in Europe in the 1st place) and now we see he is going back to Mexico??
ps mike - like the spelling - the red makes me go back and correct mistakes, which will help in the long run, cheers

who says he is going to return after cancun perhaps he plans to do some south american futures for the confidence boost with baker after cancun challenger?
i was wondering - i know there are ranking limits to entering challengers futures... what are they?
Something to cheer today, at least, and a guaranteed quarter-finalist.
R1 round-up ...
L32: (WC) James Ward WR 295 beat Paolo Lorenzi (ITA) WR 205 by 7-5 6-7(8) L32: Richard Bloomfield WR 291 lost to (Q) Ivan Dodig (CRO) WR 404 by 7-6(7) 7-6(5) L32: Josh Goodall WR 203 beat Gary Lugassy (FRA) WR 271 by 6-2 4-6 6-3 L32: (WC) Alex Slabinsky WR 272 beat (4) Joseph Sirianni (AUS) WR 140 by 2 & 2 L32: (7) Alex Bogdanovic WR 182 lost to Tobias Kamke (GER) WR 239 by 2 & 4 L32: (WC) Daniel Evans WR 482 lost to Michael Koning (NED) WR 258 by 6-7(5) 6-4 7-6(3) L32: (WC) Daniel Cox WR 826 lost to (Q) Dominik Hrbaty (SVK) WR 264 by 2 & 1
Two rankings upsets in GB's favour and two against mean we end up with three in R2, but perhaps not the three we expected! All in all, a bit disappointing for a home Challenger.
L16: (WC) James Ward WR 295 v (1) Chris Guccione (AUS) WR 89 L16: Josh Goodall WR 203 v (WC) Alex Slabinsky WR 272

Excellent win for ward - should be looking for his first 15K win in UAE the mans on a roll... i think he will take gucc to 3 and maybe edge him
i want slabba to win the battle of the brits, becuase he has the most pts to defend this winter although a goodall winn would put him in top 200 so either way im happy
I presume the above post was made on the basis of the results posted on the ATP site, since if you click on the link to the men's doubles draw on the LTA site, you get the women's draw...!
The results proper:
Bamfs & Slabba beat Koning & Menéndez (NED/ESP) 7-6(12) 6-4 Revenge for Evo! Quite a match!
Sadly, (2) Aucks & Qureshi lost to Bastl & Zib (SUI/CZE) 7-6(5) 6-7(5) [4-10] Close, but not close enough!
* Maybe Aucks should've stuck with his partner from last week, the Brazilian, Marcio Torres, as he & "Gucci" dumped out the Italian fourth seeds, Colangelo & Crugnola, 6-0 5-7 [10-4] today!
Just for the record, Bamfs & Slabba now face Bastl & Zib in the QFs, while Bloomers & Jonny M take on Gucci & Torres & Col & Skups the third seeds, Michael Kohlmann & Todd Perry (GER/AUS).
so a nice couple of matches today. Ward vs Gucci, nothing to lose for ward, but a big ask for him to get a result here.
Slabba v Josh is interesting. personally i'd like slabba to win, but Josh has to be fav coming on the back of Canada semis. However Slabba did hammer Sirianni and if his serve and forehand are on......
