QR1: Matthew Short UNR lost to Brett Joelson (USA) UNR by 4 & 4

Having resisted the too-obvious-even-for-me "falling a bit short", "seems to be a bit short of form" temptations for two whole days, I'll move on to the main draw:

L32: Sean Thornley WR 792 v (6) Daniel Yoo (KOR) WR 771

Having missed out on a seeding himself by just 9 places (796 v 787), Sean has drawn a seed in R1, but Yoo is only ranked 21 places above him so at first sight, Sean should fancy his chances. However, Yoo was ranked in the top 500 two years ago so I think he may have been out with injury for a bit and he actually won last week's Hawaii Future. Sean's best chance is probably if Yoo suffers a reaction to playing all those matches last week.
