No it's not. It's her 4th SF of the year alone, and one of those was a level up from this (a couple of weeks ago).

Well done Emily. Nice set of results of late. Be great to see her get back up inside the top 300 where she was at one point a few years back. We can't have seen the best of her yet surely. She has been unlucky with illness and injury in the past.

Here is an extract from the Hindu Times, suggeting Em really did tank the match.

"Earlier, Sanaa Bhambri spent only 36 minutes on court breezing past Emily Smith, as she did not face even a token of resistance from the Briton, who won a mere 18 points in all in the 12 games of the match."
