Another great result from Colin, and also good to see Josh shake the 2nd round monkey off his back.

Cox is surely due a run of good draws at some point, as he just cannot catch a break at the moment.

Well done to all the boys who got to the second round, and it's looks like it could well be a very good weak in terms of ranking points seeing how the draw has panned out.

Milton finally gets over his curse of the second round, and I think he'll have a decent shot at making the semi finals here, while if Flembo plays well he could easily take out Insausti who struggled in qualifying.

I'd expect Bloomers to come through the top section as well and probably take another title here - just the bottom quarter where we may not get a semi finalist, although it will be good for Arlidge/Marsalek to reach a QF

I'll add in the seedings and rankings, and as you can see, the seeds have taken a good bashing again this week.

All results subject to confirmation given that they come from the BBC who have apparently got Tara Moore's result the wrong way round:

L16: (1) Richard Bloomfield WR 316 beat (LL) David Rice WR 998 by 3 & 2 smilecry
L16: (5) Ken Skupski WR 562 lost to (Q) Milos Sekulic (SWE) WR 1392 by 7-6(4) 4-6 6-3 bleh
L16: (WC) Josh Milton WR 831 beat Adrien Bossel (SUI) WR 852 by 6-4 7-6(4) smile
L16: Colin Fleming WR 819 beat (WC) Daniel Smethurst WR 1019 by 4 & 0 smilecry
L16: Neil Bamford WR 711 lost to (3/Q) Jean-Noël Insausti (FRA) WR 456 by 5 & 1 cry
L16: (Q) Burnham Arlidge WR 985 beat (WC) James Marsalek UNR by 1 & 3 smilecry

QF: (1) Richard Bloomfield WR 316 v (Q) Milos Sekulic (SWE) WR 1392
QF: (WC) Josh Milton WR 831 v (Q) Thomas Kromann (DEN) WR 1007
QF: Colin Fleming WR 819 v (3/Q) Jean-Noël Insausti (FRA) WR 456
QF: (Q) Burnham Arlidge WR 985 v Yann Marti (SUI) WR 822

So, we have a Brit in every QF but no guaranteed semi-finalists.

On the bright side we could have 2 all-Brit semi-finals !

Finally, the doubles results:

Bains & Rice lost to the top seeds, Cerovic & Danilovic 3 & 1 cry  (no disgrace, but one couldn't help hoping...)

Angus & Smethurst beat Cauvard & Singh (3) 3 & 4 biggrin (play C & D in the SF)

Cox & Milton beat Bamfs & Illy (4) 6-4 2-6 [10-1] smile hmm

Flembo & Skups (2) beat Lewis Barnes & Pauffley 1 & 1 smile cry (play Cox & Milton in the SF)

*  Only one non-Brit pair in the SFs... biggrin

I hope Fleming gets some good early season doubles Challenger WC's to aid his ranking. It could take quite a while winning futures titles to get a decent enough ranking to get DAs into foreign challengers / ATPs.

I predict 3 british semi finalists and a Bloomers vs Fleming final!

Let's see if I've 'jinxed' anything!

That's a good start, especially when you consider that Insausti was the only non-Brit seed left in the draw. smile.gif

GB 1 Rest of Europe 0
