RE: Week 44 - Futures F17 ($10k) - London (Campden Hill)

Transferring from Glasgow thread:

Singles main draw here and doubles draw here.

*  WCs have gone to Marcus Willis, Neil Pauffley, James Feaver & Colin Fleming.  Is is unlucky Marcus or woe betide Bloomers in the first round?!!

FQR: (q1) Daniel Cox WR 843 beat Tom Burn UNR by 3 & 3 smilecry
FQR: (q15) Burnham Arlidge WR 983 lost to (q3) Yann Marti (SUI) WR 822 by 4 & 3 cry
FQR: Dan Smethurst WR 1012 beat Thomas Kromann (DEN) WR 1007 by 6-3 3-6 6-1 biggrin
FQR: (q6) Joshua Milton WR 853 beat (q14) Simon Cauvard (FRA) WR 977 by 6-3 7-6(2) smile
FQR: Mathew James UNR lost to Andrzej Grusiecki (POL) WR 1155 by 4 & 2 cry
FQR: David Rice WR 996  beat (q12) Jonathan Kinsella WR 956 by 4 & 3
biggrinbleh

(repeated, just to get this and the R1 draw on the same page)

L32: (1) Richard Bloomfield WR 313 v (WC) Marcus Willis WR 1761
L32: (Q) Daniel Cox WR 843 v (WC) Neil Pauffley WR 1761
L32: (WC) James Feaver WR 762 v (5) David Novak (CZE) WR 494 (winner to face Knittel or (Q) Marti)
L32: Neil Bamford WR 712 v (3) Pierre Metenier (FRA) WR 434 (winner to face Danilovic or Varga)
L32: Matthew Illingworth WR 751 v (Q) Baptiste Bayet (FRA) WR 947
L32: (8) Ken Skupski WR 582 v (WC) Colin Fleming WR 859
(no Brits in first two matches in Q3, headed by (7) Volante)
L32: (Q) Dan Smethurst WR 1012 v Miloslav Mecir (SVK) WR 627
L32: (Q) Joshua Milton WR 853 v (4) Jean-Noël Insausti (FRA) WR 465
L32: (Q) David Rice WR 996 v Martin Klizan (SVK) WR 668 (winner to face (6) Burquier or (Q) Norby)
(no Brits in last two matches in Q4, headed by (2) Cerovic)

So this is what Feaver left Pakistan for! The club champion doesn't seem to have taken up his WC after all.

Clearly drawing your doubles partner in R1 is a Skupski thing, not a Bloomers thing!

Evo seems to be missing in action, yet it was Meatball who got injured in the Glasgow Final. blankstare

Yes, not the nicest of draws for the Brits by a long way, we're going to need some heroics again!

Absolutely horrible draw for the Brits really - a load of them in the top quarter or in Brit vs. Brit matches, and a good chance that only the 3 all-British matches will provide points this week.

Not just that, but apart from Illingworth and Dr No, they all drew seeds, semi-finalists from last week and/or other Brits.

Rice http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=133225 - no idea why though, I wonder if there's anyone who can enlighten us. At least it's a bit more original than "Evo", "Muzza", "Boggo", etc!

Marcus lost 1 and 1-he's pulled a stomach muscle and having hamstring probs so he's off to see the physio now-hopefully he'll be recovered enough for Sunderland next week
